I am still here

Hello to all. Yes i am still here. My life has been such a whirlwind, I really don't even recognize it. Football season is winding down and I will actually have a Saturday with nothing to do. On a sad note the man that I take care of at home passed away last Wednesday and because he has no family I was responsible for all of his arrangements. So as you can see I have been busy. The highlight of my life was a week ago. My oldest son went to his first homecoming. I think I was more excited than he was. I can't imagine what I will be like when my daughter goes and i get to do the whole dress thing. he looked so handsome. I hope when my daughter goes the shopping doesn't take as long as it did to find that shirt. Ugggh it was exhausting. But all turned out well and as you can see they looked amazing. I was one proud mama. On to other things. I have had no time to shop. I know it's awful isn't it? But no fear girls things are slowing down and i am gaining my second wind. I will be unstoppable. Before all of this craziness I did pick up a few things to work on at the goodwill I just haven't gotten to them yet but I will. Pictures to follow soon. Well I am out of news to share for now. Have a wonderful day girls.

Pumpkins, Leaves and mums!!

All of the beautiful signs of fall. I find it funny that almost any Prim decorator loves fall. Is it the colors? The smells? I think it is both. The cooler temperatures and smells of Cinnamon and spices. And the colors are warm and inviting, They say come on in. Ahhhh fall. Well I certainly became inspired to pull out all the fall stuff i had in the basement. I don't have alot right now but I have been shopping. I have discovered a wonderful shop in a town nearby. It was a prim lovers dream. I found some great stuff. It was kinda nice to just take it home and use it right away rather than waiting for it to ship. I found this really darling table runner there.

I also found these really cute tea towels. I love the fall colors. but I think they will be great any time of the year. I thought I would share with you some pictures of some fall decorating i have done.

I am so sorry it has been so long between posts we have been so busy with all the sports my kids are in. As they say a mothers work is never done. Oh I almost forgot. I did my first goodwill find refurb. As soon as I charge my camera I will ad those pics. Well that's all for now. I must go finish the daily chores. Until next time ladies.

Whatcha making Monday

Well with the signs of fall all around I decided yesterday to do some baking. I have tried and failed many times at homemade bread. One of my fondest memories as a child was going to my grannys and the smell of fresh baked bread just smacked ya right in the face when you walked in. My brothers and I would fight to get the end and smother it with butter. OHHHHH so good. So I just happened to stumble blog and there was a recipe for bread. So I thought why not? You can also find this here.beauty that moves: the lunch box post. 2 cups warm water (110F)1/2 cup agave nectar (honey or sugar is fine)1 1/2 tablespoons active dry yeast1 1/2 teaspoons sea salt1/4 cup light vegetable oil (your preference)4 cups all purpose white flour (we use organic white whole wheat, germ still in)2 cups whole wheat bread flour
1. In a large bowl, dissolve the agave in the warm water, add yeast. Allow to proof until yeast resembles a creamy foam, about 10 minutes.
2. Mix salt and oil into the yeast. Work in 6 cups of flour. Knead dough on a lightly floured surface until smooth. Use a little more flour if needed. Place in well oiled bowl, and turn once to coat the entire surface of the dough with oil. Cover with a clean damp cotton cloth. Allow dough to rise until double in size., about an hour.
3. Punch dough down. Knead for a few minutes, and divide in half. Shape into loaves and place into two well oiled 9x5 loaf pans. Allow to rise for 30 minutes.
4. Bake in a 350F oven for 25 minutes. When you thump the top of the bread it should sound hollow.
TIP: My house tends to be on the cool side, even in the summer. I turn my oven on 200 and allow the bread to rise on the stove top. Works really well. It turned out great and it was very simple. It Tasted just like Grannys.

So then I decided what would go good with homemade bread? Soup of course. So I made my broccoli cheese soup. It was A very good dinner and all was happy. The kiddies went back to school today so I will have a little extra time to bake. I really do love it.

I love fall!

The sights and smells of fall are in the air. Fall is my all time favorite season. I was at the store yesterday and there was a whole isle of fall things. In my excitement I bought some candy corn. I brought it home and put it in a candy dish. My oldest son comes in and says AlREADY!!. I cant help but laugh. They think their mother is crazy. I really have to get busy checking out some prim web sites. Being new to the prim world I really don't have much to decorate with for fall. I really loved the tutorial on THE PICKLED PEPPER PATCH the pumpkins are amazing. Check them out if you get a chance. I think I may attempt those. my d/h bought me a sewing machine for my birthday a few years back maybe its time to use it for something other than the occasional zipper or hem. Maybe I will find I am good at it. . I will have some extra time now that the kids will be back to school in a week. Yet another sign of fall. And football. I LOVE pee wee and high school football. I am excited to see my boys play every year. My oldest son is a freshman this year. So I am ready for hot chocolate and a good game of high school football. The only downside to that is in my profession, being an E.M.T i tend to freak out a little more about injuries and my oldest is one of the smallest on the team and gets hurt AL OT!! Maybe this year I will skip the hot chocolate and go for something a little stronger. UGH!Well I must get on with the duties of the day. We are going shoe shopping, kill me now. Teenage boys are no better at shoe shopping then teenage girls, trust me. Until next post. Happy priming.

Some new goodies to share

Good uugh what day is this? Wednesday I think. This is the time of the year my schedule gets very busy. As I said before I have three great kids who are all involved in some sport and right now it is football and cheer leading. One of my boys is a freshman and the other two are on pee wee football and cheer. So being a stay at home mom I volunteer for allot. Which I love. We are from a very small town and i have got to know most of the boys on my sons teams and they call me mom Its just so fun for me. So I will be cooking lots of pasta for the high school boys and baking lots of cookies for the pee wee boys. I am always tying to come up with neat ideas for the younger boys football if any one has any ideas they would like to share.

Ok so on to the new stuff. Like I was saying I have been waiting for the slant back shelf to arrive. well it has and it has found a home in my kitchen. I really love it. if you look close you can see something else new I got, It is the gatherings box on the bottom shelf.

How bout a closer look?

There that's better,Oh yes and there is one more new thing I got. And I love this one allot it has made a nice addition to the kitchen.

Ok so camping is really not for me.

Good Monday morning fellow bloggers. As you can see by the title our family went camping over the weekend. And i must say that from now on I will "camp" only at the Hilton. Now don't get me wrong there were some very positive things about the weekend. I did get to spend it with my entire family, my two brothers and their families and my mom and dad all went we had 18 people total. And Saturday morning about 5:30 the birds started to sing and the sun was coming up and the smell of fresh air, now that was wonderful. I also loved the campfire at night it was very relaxing and smelled great. But then there were bugs and i mean lots of bugs. The first night we had a daddy long leg in our tent and it crawled on all of us at least once before we smooshed it. My dd was freaked out the whole night and wouldn't sleep. the showers were covered in spiders. And then to add to the yuk factor Saturday night it started pouring rain and then thunder and lightning. Yes girls it was very wet. So no wood for a fire which meant no coffee. And I'm sorry a person shouldn't have to live that way. So needless to say we packed up in the rain and headed home. If i go camping again I will rent a cabin.

So on another note I have been E-bay shopping some more and i have received a few more things. the picture i am using as my header is a gathering i won. I love it. the little piggy smells so good. I changed my table top arrangement also I will post the picture but don't laugh cause if you look real close my dd put her neon necklace in the arrangement.
Can you see it in the apples, funny. I also got what I have been waiting for forever to add to my noodle board arrangement on my stove. I got a shoe fly. I still have things I want to change on noodle board these things are not permanent. More e-bay in my future .

I just won an auction I told you i needed shelves and cupboards to put things I have bought. Well i won an awesome slant back shelf i cannot wait to get . pictures to come. So for now ladies. I must wash camping clothes. till next time.

Garage sale day in my town!!

Good Friday to all. Well today is the beginning of the big garage sales in my little town. And oh yes I will be hitting them hard. I am on a mission for some kind of a cabinet for my living room. As a new beginner to all of this I find myself having allot of small pieces but now i am out of room to display them. And there is a bare space in my living room that needs filling. ( sorry dh). So that is the mission. And there is always room for other things I just might happen upon. I may have competition in this trash to treasure find because Mary from Gettysburg Homestead also knows of these sales. Either she will come or she will send that treasure hunter friend of hers..lol. So the race is on. Just kidding Mary I will share.

Oh yea and I told you all I would share some of the E-bay stuff I got Well. I have received two more things I can share . There is more on the way. I am so addicted. This is a little wall cabinet. I just loved it's originality. It went very well in my bathroom. The bathroom is a work in progress, I wont show all of it till I'm done.
The next thing i got was this cute little gathering. It is also in my bathroom. Like I said before we have a brand new house so it is really hard to prim it up but I am having allot of fun trying.
There is more coming in the mail. I bought something the other day that I have been wanting for a while so that I could redo my noodle board. more tweaking pictures to come. Check back and wish me luck at the yard sales today. Until next time ladies and maybe gentlemen.
